The International Round Table "Peculiarities of Investigation of Crimes Related to the Use of Explosive Materials: Forensic Aspects", was held on February 18 on the basis of the Educational and Scientific Institute № 2 of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. It was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Academy of Internal Affairs and organized by the Department of Forensic Support and Forensic Science. Due to anti-epidemic measures, the scientific meeting was held by video conference using the ZOOM platform.

At the beginning of the event, the Vice-Rector of the Academy, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Colonel of Police Serhii Cherniavskyi and Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute № 2, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Andrii Sakovskyi addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, testifying to the extraordinary significance of the event.

Foreign guests of the round table were represented by: Director of the Eastern European Development Agency, President of the Association of Pyrotechnicians of Slovakia Jozef Zyatko, Professor of Political Science of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor Alexander Kukhianidze, expert in fire engineering research of the Expert Center of Slovakia, Doctor of Philosophy Milan Marcinek and Chief Consultant in the Office of the Chief of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rear Admiral of the Libyan Navy Reed Said Milud.

The scientific event took place in an atmosphere of active discussion on the topic of the investigation of crimes related to the explosives usage, which was also joined by many scientists from different higher education institutions.

In their reports, the participants of the round table covered problematic issues related to the investigation of terrorist acts committed with the use of explosive materials, tactics of inspection of the scene after the explosion inside buildings and structures, issues of regulatory and legal support for inspection of crime scenes committed with the use of explosive materials and humanitarian demining in Ukraine.
