Fruitful cooperation with German colleagues
10-03-2017On March 10th National Academy of Internal Affairs hosted the roundtable discussion of joint German-Ukrainian project for developing the updated system of NPU staff training. The event was attended by the Police Director of the Bavarian Preparedness Police Gerd Enkling, German Federal Police Liaison Officer Stefan Berger, EUAM Senior Adviser Rainer Kuehn, Regional Manager of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, Moldova and Romania Daniel Seiberling, Head of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine Serhii Zagornyi, representatives of NPU, MIA of Ukraine and National Academy of Internal Affairs.
The event was opened by NAIA Rector Volodymyr Cherniei stating that the format of roundtable discussion is aimed first of all at informal exchange of opinions and ideas: «I am glad to note that our partnership with Bavarian Police and Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine has been strengthening – our foreign colleagues provide us constant support which is crucial at current reforming stage. Today’s meeting is devoted to discussion of implementation of joint German-Ukrainian project for developing the updated system of NPU staff training. The Concept of law enforcement education reforming was designed after analyzing best practices of foreign countries including experience of Bavarian Police.
Deputy Rector Serhii Cherniavskyi presented the Concept of law enforcement education reforming to participants and explained key aspects of its implementation and strategic points – training of trainers and instructors, binary sessions with involvement of operatives, counseling and guidance, popularization of police officer’s profession, provision of training materials.
Mr Enkling assured the participants of staunch support for the law enforcement reforming in Ukraine stating that the key task of presented concept is to improve the quality of police officers’ training.
During the meeting key challenges and perspectives of further cooperation enhancement were discussed along with detailed answers for the most disturbing questions provided by Gerd Enkling.
