According to the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the request of the Department of Personnel Support of the National Police of Ukraine at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, an upgrade of the qualifications for the police officers is introduced. This will ensure the realization of psychophysiological research with the usage of the polygraph.

Previously, National Academy of Internal Affairs has already held scientific researches on this topic. In particular, a scientific-practical forum was organized and held recently. It was devoted to the first anniversary of the creation of the "All-Ukrainian Association of Polygraph Examiners". There were also training sessions for the police forces, where officers learned about possible usage of polygraphs.

On October 22, in a solemn atmosphere, A special audience was opened with the participation of the rector, general of police Volodymyr Cherniei; the first vice-rector, Police Colonel Stanislav Husariev; vice-rector, Police Colonel Serhii Cherniavskyi; representatives of research laboratories of the academy; and specialists who will be trained.

«Taking into account modern technologies and features of special training for security forces, we must provide for them necessary training. We may start with basic and legal training on the problems of using the polygraph. We will involve not only our specialists, but also our partners – specialists from various departments and organizations. Among them there are representatives of: Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise; College of Polygraph Professors of Ukraine; Association of polygraph examiners of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies etc. Today, we are opening a polygraph-specialists training center. Taking into account the proposals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Department of Personnel Provision of the National Police, we will cooperate with the first specialists who receive state-certified certificates. We will constantly expand the geography of training for new specialists throughout Ukraine» – noted Rector Volodymyr Cherniei.

It should be noted that the premises are equipped with modern technical means of training including an interactive whiteboard, a multimedia projector, personal computers and polygraph equipment.
