NATO Integrity Training

On March 29-30, training for trainers on integrity education was held with the assistance of NATO and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Traditionally, this event is held on the basis of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. This year, due to quarantine restrictions, the training took place online.

At the beginning of the event, the Head of the Department for Corruption Prevention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anatolii Fodchuk addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He informed about the long-term and effective cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the NATO Program for Building Integrity, Integrity, Transparency and Reducing Corruption Risks in the Work of Defense and Security Institutions (Building Integrity Program) on conducting joint trainings and trainings for professional trainers.

Vice-Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Serhii Cherniavskyi congratulated all the participants of the training, noting that the Academy holds many events with the participation of international experts aimed at combating corruption, such as trainings in the field of anti-corruption specialization for police officers and institutions, establishments and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as various categories of civil servants and local government officials from all over the country.

Nadia Milanova, Officer of the Office for the Development of Institutional Capacities of NATO Defense Headquarters, presented the training program and stressed that leading foreign experts had been invited to the event, and interesting reports had been prepared.

The participants of the event from NAIA were the Head of the Department of Public Management and Administration, lieutenant colonel of police Ihor Pastukh and professor of the Department of Criminal Law, Police Colonel Olha Kryshevych.

During the training, participants learned about the experience of NATO countries in the field of integrity training, corruption risk assessment, protection of exposers; discussed the scale of corruption risk assessment in such functional areas as procurement, budgeting and human resources. At the end of the event, the participants thanked the organizers for an interesting and informative training.
