Training on capacity building: stage III
24-11-2017On November 22-23 Head of NAIA Administrative Law and Process Department O. Kuzmenko and associate professors M. Spivak and V. Chorna took part in ToT workshop «Improving the efficiency of police response to sexual and gender-based violence», organized jointly by OSCE and «La Strada-Ukraine».
Workshop participants represented MIA higher educational establishmens, NGOs, practical police units, NPU Human Rights Department and managed to demonstrate unique level of mutual understanding and collaboration despite differences in experience and professional background.
Representatives of «La Strada-Ukraine» provided detailed information on results of analytical research accumulated in final report on how Ukrainian criminal justice system is responding to domestic and gender-based violence issues. Swedish investigators shared their valuable experience on gender-based crimes tackling along with discussion of current methodology of work with suspects and witnesses. During the workshop first results of 4-month “POLINA” pilot project implementation were presented (mobile groups on domestic violence prevention).
The event had quite an intensive agenda: brainstorming, group work, analysis of materials, drafting of presentations etc.
