«Topical issues of criminal process, criminalistics and forensic examination methodology»
24-11-2017On November 24th National Academy of Internal Affairs held an international scientific conference «Topical issues of criminal process, criminalistics and forensic examination methodology» in cooperation with Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, National Police of Ukraine and EUAM.
Representatives of NPU Main Investigative Department, Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Department of Staff, Research and Training Activity of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, State Research Forensic Center and MIA of Ukraine higher educational establishments were invited to participate in the conference.
NAIA Rector Volodymyr Cherniei in his opening speech mentioned that «reloading» of crime investigation system, already performed on the legislative level, requires relevant implementation in enforcement practice. This is especially important for pre-trial investigation agencies and forensic services. Therefore it is necessary to accumulate the best foreign practices and achievements which must be used to develop specialized training programs for the abovementioned categories of law enforcement experts».
During the conference all participants had an opportunity to involve in professional discussions on various issues – criminalistics, criminal process, forensic examination methodology, improvement of criminal procedural legislation, practical implementation of selected methodology.
Also a presentation of a manual «Crime scene examination for specialists», developed by experts from National Academy of Internal Affairs, NPU Main Investigative Department, Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with support of EUAM, was prepared along with presentation of data retrieval system project «Forensic Inspector».
