On December 11th international conference «Police education and training: international experience and national perspective» was held in Kyiv, joining representatives of Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, National Police of Ukraine, international organizations and diplomatic missions, OSCE experts.

National Academy of Internal Affairs was presented by Rector Volodymyr Cherniei, First Deputy Rector Stanislav Husariev, Deputy Rector Serhii Cherniavskyi, Head of Training Process Coordination and Organization Taisiia Korzh-Ikaieva.

The conference was aimed:

- to establish a platform for experience exchange and deepen the knowledge on latest educational models and approaches applied in OSCE member states;

- to share best national practices and discuss the key challenges of Ukrainian law enforcement sector reforming;

- to study the approaches for training methodology improvement (basic, specialized and postgraduate courses).

All participants were greeted by State Secretary of MoI of Ukraine Oleksii Takhtai, Head of EUAM Kęstutis Lančinskas, Head of Law Enforcement Department of the Embassy of United States of America to Ukraine Christopher Smith, Deputy Head of National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine Ambassador Vaidotas Verba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk, Adviser on Policing Reforms of OSCE Secretariat Transnational Threats Department Anders Danielsson. The event was moderated by manager of OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine «Human Security» program Liliia Hrudko.

Special attention was paid to discussions of presentations made by Oleksii Takhtai («Police training models in the scope of MoI reforming strategy», Vadym Lisnychuk («Police training models in OSCE regions»), John Montanio (police training model in the USA), Joanne Rigon (police training model in Canada), Jochen Christe-Zeyse (police training model in Germany), Norbert Leitner (police training model in Austria), Renata Odelian (police training model in Croatia) and Madlen Khelashvili.
