Lecture-training classes for cadets on the introduction of the Custody Records System into the work of the National Police
23-12-2020On December 22, Kateryna Shapovalova, an adjunct professor at the Department of Police Law of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, conducted lectures and training sessions for 3rd year cadets on the topic "Implementation of the Custody Records System in the Work of the National Police of Ukraine."
During the classes the historical preconditions of implementation and the main components of this system were covered, the concepts and features of the implementation of the national preventive mechanisms, problematic issues of temporary detention facilities, etc. were considered.
It is emphasized that the introduction of the Custody Records System has brought the standards for realization of the rights of detainees to a new level. In particular, it provides access to any data and the real situation in each detention center, and thus, allows us promptly assess needs, plan resources and monitor compliance with the rights of detainees online.
The institute of procedural interview is considered as a novelty of legal doctrine and prospects of its introduction in Ukraine on the basis of Custody Records System, correlation of procedural interview and interrogation as a means of obtaining information by pre-trial investigation bodies.
At the end of the lesson, the cadets worked out procedural interviewing in practice.
