Human rights in documentary
12-09-2017On September 8th members of NAIA legal clinics visited the first class of "HR in Documentary" training course. The course program was developed by experts from Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Office in Ukraine jointly with Center for Civil Liberties aimed to involve initiative youth. Eight meetings are planned for the trainees with documentaries viewed demonstrating key human rights issues in situational contexts to be further discussed with moderators.
The first movie by filmmaker Elizabeth Lo - "Hotel 22" - tells about 24-hour bus running on route 22 through wealthy Silicon Valley, packed with commuters headed to and from tech jobs in the afternoon but serving a very different function at night - shelter for homeless.
The review was followed by discussion moderated by Head of Board of Center for Civil Liberties - Oleksandra Matviichuk. This project is aimed to help future police officers to improve their knowledge in HR area and increase their professional competence.
