Another rotation of National Police officers sent to participate in the UN international operation to maintain peace and security in the Republic of South Sudan18-02-2022
On February 18, Senior Inspector of the Investigation Support Unit of the Interpol and Europol Investigation Support Division of the NPU International Police Cooperation Department, Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Tarabanovsky and Inspector of the International Police Cooperation Sector of the Directorate General of the National Police in the Zakarpattia Region Police Major Serhiy Kharlamov, were sent to participate in the UN international operation to maintain peace and security in the Republic of South Sudan.
At the NAIA, police officers underwent a two-week training to deepen their knowledge of human rights, gender equality, protection of civilians and prevention of sexual violence, as well as to master their skills of driving an all-wheel drive car and providing pre-medical care.
In the Republic of South Sudan, Serhiy Tarabanovsky and Serhiy Kharlamov will be directly involved in strengthening the capacity of the local police, conducting training and strategic advice, and protecting the civilian population in the post-conflict period.
Peacekeepers noted the high level of pre-mission training at the NAIA. Rector of the Academy Volodymyr Cherniei, Police General of the First Rank, expressed confidence that our law enforcement officers will honorably strengthen the authority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the international arena, passing on the experience gained in the National Police and previous missions to colleagues from South Sudan to establish peace and security.
