Educational, Social Work and Leisure Unit is a structural subdivision of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, providing organizational and methodological work aimed at enhancing the authority of the police, forming and developing personal responsibility for the enforcement of the requirements of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, fidelity to the Oath, forming personal responsibility for the conscious fulfillment of the rules of ethical behavior of police officers, high spiritual culture, moral qualities and patriotism, the state view of the world, maintaining positive social and psychological climate in work groups, raising cultural and professional levels of employees, arranging conditions for comprehensive harmonious development of personality, creativity, promoting meaningful leisure, social support to the staff and veterans of the Academy.

Educational, Social Work and Leisure Unit organizes its work with the staff of the Academy in the following areas:

- educational activities;

- social work;

- cultural work and recreational activities.

Functions of the Educational, Social Work and Leisure Unit:

1. Educating highly qualified specialists, creating necessary conditions for their professional and moral formation together with other services of the Academy.

2. Assisting heads of structural subdivisions in the organization of individual and educational work, cultural and educational activities with the staff, to form positive moral and psychological climate in groups.

3. Supporting the educational process and service activities of the staff – a set of organizational and pedagogical measures aimed at the formation and development of professionally important personal qualities and psychological readiness of the staff.

4. Participating in strengthening discipline and legitimacy.

5. Strengthening national-patriotic, moral-ethical and artistic-aesthetic education of the young generation.

6. Increasing the professional, cultural and educational level of those, involved in the educational process.

7. Arranging and conducting cultural and artistic events, celebrations of national holidays and commemorative dates, as well. Involving young people in the creative teams of the Academy.

8. Analyzing, generalizing and sharing new forms and methods of the educational work.

9. Promoting social protection and support for cadets, lyceum students, employees and their families, veterans of internal affairs bodies (the police), members of the families of those, killed in the line of duty (Anti-terrorist operation/Joint Forces Operation), participants in military activities, participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, members of large families; assisting in the protection of the honor and dignity of the permanent and variable Academy staff.

10. Coordinating and managing activities of the groups of educational and social work and leisure of the NAIA training units, their provision with methodological and practical assistance, exercising control over these areas.

11. Assisting in the work of public formations, including cadets (student) self-government, veterans of internal affairs bodies (the police), participants in military activities, participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
