Joint project of NAIA and EUAM
20-12-2016On December 20th NAIA opened its doors for representatives of EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine – this working meeting was aimed to share ideas and visions concerning publishing of special instructive pocket-books for NPU forensic units.
EUAM was presented by Petri Varjos, Senior Adviser on Forensic Identification and Maksym Oshchepkov – Criminal Investigations Training Officer.
The meeting was opened by Rector’s greetings and words of gratitude for successful cooperation in previous projects. Also Volodymyr Cherniei stressed that in the course of active law enforcement reforming process it is necessary for the newcomers to be provided with clear and comprehensive algorithms of primary crime scene examination in order to ensure correct recording and extraction of all detected evidence and data later transferred to investigators.
Petri Varjos told about European best practices and achievements in this area and shared his personal experience in composition of a similar manual for Finnish police.
